Lawful basis for using your information

Depending on the situation, I rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:

Who I may share information with

I use a small number of trusted service providers to operate HomeTech. These may include:

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements.
I may also disclose information where required by law, regulation or a valid legal request.
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, appropriate data-protection safeguards are used by those providers in accordance with applicable law.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed.
As a general guide:
- enquiries that do not become customers: up to 24 months
- customer correspondence and service records: normally up to 6 years where needed for business, legal or accounting purposes
- financial and accounting records: normally 6 years in line with company tax record-keeping requirements
UK companies generally need to retain relevant accounting records for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to. GOV.UK
